Muizenissen (Mouse Play) (2023)

This is my graduation project! Dive into the mind and world of Alex, a boy experiencing bullying within his apartment complex. Trying to get home, he gets confronted by bullies, making him a laughingstock. Comparisons can be drawn to a mouse being hunted by cats. However, are they all as bad as he thinks..? Can he possibly find any hope in this situation? What happens when Alex reaches his limit?

Muizenissen/Mouse Play is a 2D animated short film about bullying and the inner battles the victim must face. Repressing one’s emotions and ultimately losing control are themes that shape this story. The animation has been made using traditional hand-drawn techniques, and the backgrounds were made using photobashing and collage techniques.
